crochet bookmark pattern

For this project you will need:

1. Acrylic yarn 4 ply colours (pink, white &green)
2. Crochet hook number 2.5
3. 1/2 " elastic band white
4. tapestry needle / yarn needle 
5. glue gun 

Abbreviations 

mc - magic circle 

dc - double crochet

sl.st- slip stitch 

ch- chain

tb- treble crochet 

Flowers (make 2) 

1. Make a magic circle 
2. Chain 3 
3. Make 12 dc into the magic circle 
4. slip stitch on top of the first dc 
5. ch 4
6. 2tb
7. 2 tb
8. ch4 
9. sl. st into the same stitch
10. you have formed a petal now 
11. continue for 5 more petals.

Leaf (make 2)

1. ch 14
2. 1 sc into the next stitch (work in the back of the chain)
3. 1 hdc 
4. 2 dc 
5. 4 tb 
6. 2 dc
7. 1 hdc 
8. 1 sc
9. sl.st
10. sc into the next stitch (work in the back of the chain)
11. 1 hdc
12. 2 dc
13. 4 tb 
14. 2 dc
15. 1 hdc 
16. 1 sc
17. sl.st
18. The above pattern is for one leaf. If you want to form another leaf  ch 14 and work on the opposite side. 

Instructions:

• make 2 flowers and 2 leaves with the above pattern.
• take the elastic band and measure it according to the length of the book. 
• sew both the ends together.
• arrange the flowers and leaves according to your liking and glue it up on the elastic band, hiding the sewn part. 
• slip the band onto the book from behind and now you can use the bookmark on the page you wanted.
